Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Varin by the students in the school assembly area on the bright and sunny morning. After invoking God’s blessings through a meaningful and solemn Prayer and Prayer Song, the students were made aware of the importance of Kannada Rajyotsava as the Karnataka Formation Day, celebrated on the 1st of November every year. It was on this day in 1956 that all Kannada speaking regions of southern India were merged to form the state of Karnataka. The students sang a melodious Kannada song and danced to the catchy beats of a Kannada folk song, to highlight their message: “Ella Kanadigarigu Kannada Rajyothsavada Shubhashayagalu!”
Students showcased their talent and exhibited their love for their beloved state, Karnataka by enthusiastically participating in a gala celebration. Students also sang Karnataka naadageethe "Jai Bhaaratha jananiya tanujaathe”
The program touched everyone's heart. On the occasion of this event, Kannada teachers conducted story narration, handwriting, elocution and poem recitation competition for students of 1-10th grades.
As a culmination of the celebration, the students were taught the state anthem reflecting the spirit of Karnataka. The colourful dances gave much pleasure to the students, as did the speech by Mr. Senthil R on the importance of Kannada. The special assembly was concluded with the Vote of Thanks.
