We celebrated ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with great pomp and festivity on 31st August, 2022. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. The festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav.
The festival was heralded with a traditional lamp lighting followed by a prayer to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The management took part in the celebration and was very appreciative of the artistic skill of the students. They expressed their good wishes for the students on the festive occasion.
Festivals build group cohesiveness. Festivals inform, educate, bring people together, break the monotony of routine and give us a chance to re-energize our body, mind, and spirit. Of all the festivals, Ganesh Chaturthi is the most colourful. People believe that Lord Ganesha, the symbol of wisdom bestows his presence on Earth during this festival and remove their obstacles. With such belief, we organised various activities for students on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The sole purpose of the celebration was to let the students stay rooted with Indian culture and to enable them to understand the significance of this festival.
The programme ended with chants of “Ganapathi Bappa Moriya” which echoed all around the campus in a festival manner.
